The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) works to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards in dental schools and programs across the nation. Every seven years, UFCD’s DMD program, and most specialty programs, go through the accreditation process.
Accreditation includes a comprehensive self-analysis and self-study on resources, curriculum, policies and operational standards, followed by a site visit from CODA team members to conduct interviews and evaluate if the program meets accreditation standards.
The UF College of Dentistry is preparing to kick off the 2023 Accreditation process.
UFCD received official word in March 2016 that its predoctoral and advanced specialty education programs in endodontics, oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral and maxillofacial radiology, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and prosthodontics were granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements” by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
UFCD received official word in February 2009 that its predoctoral dental education program had been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements” by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
